Listen to a beautiful track from the Duets for Abdelrazik album, featuring Sam Shalabi on oud and Stefan Christoff on piano. Recorded at Hotel 2 Tango studios in winter 2011, Duets for Abdelrazik is a sonic solidarity project, musical support for Abdelrazik’s ongoing struggle for justice.

Abousfian Abdelrazik, a Sudanese-Canadian living in Montreal, was jailed on the recommendation of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) in Sudan. With the direct complicity and involvement of the Canadian government, Abdelrazik was jailed without trail and tortured in Sudan until Abdelrazik returned to Canada in 2009 after a long grassroots solidarity campaign.
